Bob Marley

I was shocked when I mentioned Bob Marley and I received blank stares. I thought his music would be well known among a population that likes ambient/coffee shop style music.

Killing two birds with one stone, you get to 1. Listen to some great music and 2. Learn some English too as the rhythm isn't fast so it's easy to sing along to.

A NEW post Toast vs. Bread

Well after updating all the pages I still got into trouble for not writing a new post on the front page (ie. HERE) so here is a NEW post! So...SMILE.

Today is Toast vs. Bread!
Are you going to buy some toast?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Do you say this? If you do, don't worry, you are not alone. It's a very common mistake. Rather than write out a long explanation let me use some simple math.
So when you go shopping, you'll buy bread!

Now to make it more confusing. You can buy "Sandwich Bread" and also "Toast Bread". This is just a difference in how thick they have cut the loaf of bread. Thicker cut is for toast, thinner cut is more for making sandwiches.

Idioms:
I'll give you a knuckle sandwich = I'm going to punch you in the face.
He is toast! = He is out/gone/beaten.
Make a toast (to toast someone). To raise your glass, stand up and make a small speech at a wedding or a special occasion.

Also, you can have a toasted sandwich, yummy. They're made with one of these:

If you go to Subway, you can have your sandwich toasted.

The FINAL (and 3rd 4th place)

Wow, that Octopus is good eh? I wonder who it will pick for the final and here it is for Sunday night (Monday morning at 2:30am)

And we'll get to see the Germans in action again against Uruguay on Saturday night to battle out 3rd and 4th place (Sunday morning 2:30am).

Germany wins 3:2, a great match if you love to see goals! And we do!

The Semi Finals

Wow, if you didn't see it, you must have heard it. Germany beats Argentina 4 YES FOUR, to Zero, 0, nil, zip. Spain also emerge victors after a hard fought match with Paraguay.

Interesting point. At the quarter stage finals, 4 teams from South America, 3 from Europe and 1 from Africa. At the end, only 1 team from South America and 3 from Europe. Wow, a sad weekend of football for South America.

So, coming into the Semi Finals, dum dum dum.
