My Introduction

When you first meet someone you need to introduce yourself, so...here is my introduction.

I'm Kane. I come from New Zealand and I have no siblings.
I'm married and have two sons, 6yrs and 3yrs.

I've been teaching ESL for about 13 years in total. I first started in Korea where I taught all ages (3~60) but mostly 8~13 aged schoolkids.
After one year I moved to Taiwan and began teaching adults ESL for David's English Center. I've never looked back. 12 years later I'm still here!

During this time I've obtained 2 TESOL certificates from TESOL Express based in Seattle, USA, and a wealth of experience in teaching all kinds of students and classes, from 1 by 1, to presentation styled workshops numbering 50+ covering topics from Simple Conversations to Corporate Presentations to GRE/TOEIC/TOEFL iBT/GEPT.

I am always looking at how to improve as an English Teacher. Be it interesting materials for students, the class structure or activities students can do, all for one thing. To improve their ability to communicate effectively and confidently in English through all kinds of media (email, phone, webcam or conferences.)

I think I'm quite lucky as I actually enjoy my job. I enjoy seeing students improve and use new language correctly, which can help them in whatever they need, be it, work, study or travel, or simply a love of being able to speak yet another language.

So, I hope to one day see you in my class!
